Your food selection affects the baby’s gender - Myth

God has given us such a beautiful power to give birth and bring up a baby, what I don’t understand is why we are out to make everything around it so mysterious and more than anything funny.

There are so many theories and old wives tale surrounding pregnancy that it is nothing short of being hilarious. From when you conceive to in what position of sex did you conceive to who initiated the love making to what time of the day you conceived and top of the line what kind of foods you have eaten or will eat to determine the sex of your baby.

What is a fact is eating good nutritional food and living a healthy lifestyle that will generate a healthy baby and that is all that’s true in the food theory.Getting pregnant and then delivering a bundle of complete joy is the true magic and nothing else there are no magic foods portions or positions that will give you a boy or a girl. You get what is destined to be in your life and what ever be it, remember it’s a gods blessing and will only bring you loads and loads of happiness.

The only thing that determines the gender is the X and Y chromosome that is given to the mother’s egg by the father’s sperm.
Let me give you some of the vaguest and the weirdest of theories I have come across that determine the baby’s gender and please let me tell you it is all a MYTH not a single word is true or has any scientific proof to it.

Some vague theories to have a son-
If you want a boy have more sex before your ovulation date and if you get knocked up on your ovulation date or later then you have conceived a boy.
Having sex in doggie style position and in the night ensures a boy.
If the love making was initiated by the father then you have conceived a son.
If you have eaten or if you are eating foods that are high in sodium and high in proteins like meats fish and if in carbohydrates you have eaten more of white flour and have eaten potassium rich foods like bananas and fruits based morning breakfast cereals then you are going to have a baby boy.

Vague theories to conceive a daughter
If you have conceived before your ovulation date then for sure it’s a girl as according to some X chromosomes are lighters and faster so if you conceive before the ovulation date it’s a girl
If you had sex more during the day and in the traditional position leads to a girl.If the love making was initiated by the mother then you have conceived a girl.

If you were drinking or are drinking plenty of milk or your diet is rich in dairy products like cheese butter yogurt and you are consuming fewer meats and eating foods that are sweeter and less salty, plus if you have gorged or are gorging too much on chocolates then for sure you are having a girl.

On a serious note none of the above are true, what is true is you are pregnant and that’s is a blessing and accept the blessing with happiness eat good healthy nutritional foods. That’s is! Eat Healthy and Live Healthy -The only fact!

Calculating the babies height

 Baby Development
As we are always paranoid about our babies physical and mental growth, we often tend to ponder over whether the baby will be as tall as her dad or short like her mom or vice versa.

It is understandable every mother is always worried about the overall growth of the baby, so a periodic check with the babies’ pediac is essential as they will check the weight as well as check the height and the motor skills of the baby.

And if they are satisfied then you have nothing to worry about. But incase if the baby is losing out of some nutrition you can start working on it, today we have drug stores full of some amazing tonics, multi-vitamins, calcium drinks to add to the babies’ nutrition, you can check whichever is best for your baby and start with it. To a major extent the babies physical growth as a lot to do with the babies genes, if the mother is obese then the baby has chances of getting obese same way if the mother is under nourished the baby will also lack nutrition. That is mainly why I keep repeating and repeating to make sure you have a well-balanced and high in nutrition diet all through your pregnancy as the baby gets all their nutrition from you.

Height Prediction is a good guess to judge the babies height but it may only be 95% correct. As to some extent you and your partner’s height will also determine the baby's height. But this attributes only 60% of the decision the rest 40% depends on the babies’ food intake and activity level. If the baby has low nutrition then he is bound to remain short and if he lacks exercise then too he will not develop his 100% height.

Height calculator will not give the right prediction in some cases such as, if the baby suffers from hormone deficiency or he is exceptionally tall again for some medical reason.

To a great extent the babies height does go on his or her parents but make sure your baby is being well fed and also has loads of physical activity in their daily regime, this will make sure they have a good overall body development and a perfect height and weight ratio.

Baby Development From 9-12 Months

You don’t need to make any extra efforts to loose weight as this stage of your baby as you’re bound to shed all the extra pounds. Now your baby is your weight trainer making you run up and down along with them.

At this stage you also become a baby with them, seeing them trying to get up on their own feet to taking their first unsupported step is such a prized memory.

Their talking their moving around is a joy to watch as you get amazed how fast your time has passed from being pregnant to being a full time mom cum nanny cum friend to your little buddle of joy.

Toys play a very pivotal role at this stage; Toys-r-us is a good place where you can get a huge range of toys for your baby which is appropriate for their age.
Buying colorful books and musical cartoon DVD’s are also a good option to keep your toddler preoccupied.

At this stage the baby is fully aware of their surrounding and their inquisitiveness has grown leaps and bounds, they want to hold everything they want to reach every possible corner of the house, as if in search of some hidden treasure.

At this stage to keep them in front of your eyes, they are so fast and active that a blink of your eye and they are in the other corner of the room.

Keeping them entertained with colorful noisy toys, picture books even touch and feel books to playing a sound books and some child friendly DVD’s becomes necessary.

By the time they are in their 11th -12th month they are all set to take their first step during this phase its important for every parent to be around them to push them to move forward and to hold them if they fall.

Every baby being different please don’t compare your babies walking time with other babies, some walk in their 11th month some take longer up to 14-15 months. No need to get paranoid as long as your baby is happy healthy and active.

By the 12th moth the baby is capable enough to show you their emotions thru actions. Their NO will be clearly visible with their head actions of a no no and their YES will also be clear with their nod of a yes yes.

Talking to the baby and asking the baby to make sounds like maa or dada will help as the baby will also follow your actions and learn faster.

At this stage the mother is the teacher and the baby your student, your actions your emotions will be copied  by the baby, so make sure you stay happy and positive all the time. Even a small unhappy tear in your eye can be seen very evident in your baby’s unhappy face.

A mother is a mother and a father is a father both have their individual duties, neither one can replace the other but a mother is a child’s support system all thru their growing years. So keeping yourself happy and at peace will show it in your baby’s behavior. The happier you are the more secure and happy your baby is.

Live well and stay happy it’s a great time of your life, enjoy each moment with your angel.

Baby Development From 6-9 Months

Day in and day out you see the baby grow inch by inch, one day they roll one day they sit up without your support and before you know your infant is a grown toddler.

From a tiny tot to a naughty little angel. By this term the babies are aware of their name and react when you call out to them with their name.

Babies’ sense of recognition has grown and they are well versed with their family members.
A mother’s role only grows as the baby grows, their attachment to the baby can be well seen. If the mother is out of sight for a little longer their hues and cries are loud enough to make you realize you have been missed.

As soon as the parent appears the baby will show her excitement by sheer screech of happiness or by stretching her hands towards you, very clearly expressing her need to be picked up and cuddled.

6-9 months is a very risky time for the mothers as they have to forever keep the child in supervision. Being able to sit and crawl around without support the babies are very inquisitive to touch and feel everything.

The touch feel factor doesn’t just end there, they are likely to pick up small objects and put it in their mouth, so adult supervision at this stage and onwards becomes very important.
This period is a good time to start some solid foods for the baby as the more they grow the hungrier they will be.

Their nonstop babbles, their different sounds will keep you entertained all thru the day.

By this time the babies are accustomed to sleep all thru the night, with just one mid night feed. They are active all thru the day with may be just 1 or 2 small naps during day time.

Games like peek-a-boo, clapping your hands and some animal sounds chirpy music will keep the baby happy and entertained.

This is a comfortable period where the mother and child both are well set and adapted to each others routine, at this stage the mother gets ample time to herself as the baby will also be happy being attended by the other family members.

How Your Newborn Grows: Infant Development

From helpless newborn to active toddler: It takes just 12 short months for your baby to undergo this incredible transformation. Babies grow and change at an astounding pace, and every month brings new and exciting developments.

New moms and dads often wonder what to expect next and how to know if their baby’s development is on target. Instead of focusing too much on developmental milestones, however, it’s important to remember that babies all develop at their own pace. There’s a fairly wide “window” for when it is normal for a baby to reach a particular developmental stage.

If your baby reaches one milestone sooner, she may reach another one later, because she’s so busy perfecting the other skill.

Some babies may say their first word at eight months, while others don’t talk until a little after the one-year mark. And walking may start anytime between nine and 18 months.

Enjoy Baby Development Stages

It is said that “There is eternal influence and power in motherhood” as it is the only job in the world that one cannot do at its own convenience. Post birth babies take time to settle down and then start with their development. Developmental stages in a baby’s growth are the milestones in the physical and mental development of a baby. Once the baby is born it continuously undergoes transformation and every day brings new developments. Every baby has its own tempo and speed of reaching a developmental stage. As per medical science each baby has criteria of when the development should start. Newly become parents are often concerned if their baby’s development is happening on time or not.

During first to three months of birth, baby’s development is in full swing. During third month baby’s identify a smiling face and respond to a smile. Flip on back and raise head and they hold objects in hand. Their eyes gaze for objects; colored objects are easily identified by them and most favorite. During this period they also play with their fingers and get hands near mouth.
From four to six months the baby will probably laugh loud, roll over from front to back, make talking sounds or babble, play with toys with hands, control head and sit with support. During this phase baby will discover voices and play around with it.

When the baby is about to reach ninth month it will start crawling, but some babies does not crawl they directly start walking. Babies now start responding to their own name or start identifying their mom and dad. They also start saying “Yes” or “No” by nodding their heads. When happy, babies start clapping or play simple games like throwing a ball or Peekaboo.etc.

Development during baby’s tenth to twelfth month is a revolution in itself. First word is uttered by most babies during this time. Most babies take their first step to walking and also know to pick up eatables and put in their mouth. Baby’s copy the actions of elders during this month, like pretend to talk on phone.etc

If a particular developmental stage is delayed or missed by a baby, then parents should visit or talk to a Pediatrician. But all parents should keep in mind that every baby is different and grows are at its own pace. One can refer to baby development chart on http://www.justthefactsbaby.com/

Stages of Baby Development

While it's fun to track the stages of baby development (baby development chart), you shouldn't obsess if your child is a week or two late in getting to one. "A baby development chart is based on averages and should be used as a general guide," says Pam Schiller, an early childhood consultant. Baby milestones are there to raise awareness about your baby's development. The most important thin in monitoring your baby's development are "windows of opportunity," which are the periods of time when your child is most ready to acquire certain skills.
